About Us
The DeMarco family began serving the Monroe Township and Southern Middlesex County area in 1979, after Michael DeMarco, with the help of his son M. They, together with their families, are proud to have celebrated their 30th anniversary of service to Monroe Township and the surrounding area in 2009. Our family truly appreciates the trust placed in us by the families we serve. We pledge to continue to honor that sacred trust for many years to come.
M. David, Thomas, & the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. are proud members, in good standing, of the National Funeral Directors Association, the New Jersey State Funeral Directors Association, and the Middlesex & Somerset County Funeral Directors Association. M. David DeMarco
President NJ Lic. No. 3203
M. David DeMarco and his wife, Paula, with the financial help of his parents and mother-in-law, founded the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. in 1979. His dad, Michael was the general contractor during the construction of the facility, so the entire process was truly a family endeavor. He was educated in the South Orange-Maplewood school system, received a BA in American Literature from West Virginia University in 1973, and his funeral service education from American Academy-McAllister Institute of Funeral Service in NYC in 1974. After a one year apprenticeship at Leon J. Gerity Funeral Home in Woodbridge and successful passing of the state licensure requirements, he received his practitioner of mortuary science license and remained on the staff there for 10 years.
David was very active in community affairs while establishing the funeral service, serving as member or an officer in the Cranbury Lions Club, Jamesburg Elks, St. James Knights of Columbus, and as a lector and Eucharistic minister at his parish, St. James RC Church, Jamesburg for many years. He served nine years on the Monroe Township Board of Education, serving as two term vice president and two term president, seven years as a member of the Monroe Township Board of Zoning Adjustment and ten years as chairman of the Monroe Township Planning Board. He holds active membership in several professional organizations, including the National Funeral Directors, New Jersey State Funeral Directors and Middlesex-Somerset Counties Funeral Directors Associations, serving as president in 1983.
While still active as president of the funeral home corporation, and able to help Tom when he needs it, David and Paula are enjoying world traveling, especially to Italy, England, Scotland, Wales, Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Russia. David is working diligently to lower his golf handicap, and truly loves summer family vacations to Aruba, St. Kitts, Lake Tahoe, and Hilton Head, SC. David and his wife Paula are proud of parents of Jennifer, the purchasing agent for Roosevelt Care Center in Edison, Angela, an elementary school teacher in Monroe Township, and her husband Peter, a funeral director in Ocean County, and Thomas, manager of the family funeral service and his wife, Sonny, also an elementary school teacher in Monroe. They have two grandchildren, Andre and Layla.
